Guitarist and composer, he has been active on the Italian music scene since the early 70s, being part of groups from the Roman and Neapolitan jazz scene and also performing alongside jazz legends such as the trumpet player Don Cherry.

In 1987 he makes his debut as a soloist at Umbria Jazz, presenting the album “Interface”, opening with his line-up the historic concert of the Gil Evans orchestra with Sting.

In July 2023, Francesco Bruno releases his new project “Zàkynthos” for AlfaMusic, presented at the Jazz&Image festival in Rome with the participation of the italian saxophonist Maurizio Giammarco.

During 2024 and 2025, the project will also see the participation in live concerts of two other names from the international jazz scene, trumpeter Raynal Colom and saxophonist Javier Girotto.

Francesco Bruno has performed with his projects in jazz festivals such as the “Singer Jazz Festival”, Szczecin Jazz, and Katowice Sylesian Jazz, Jazz&Image facing Colosseum, Montalcino Jazz, Jazz per l’Aquila, Paestum in Jazz, Orbetello Jazz, Nettuno Jazz, “A Night In Anzio” alongside artists such as Igor Butman, Camille Thurman, Endea Owens, Freddie Hendrix, Sylwester Ostrowski and many others, an event broadcast by the US platform Jazz Corner.

Francesco Bruno is the artistic director of the jazz festivals “Anzio’s Summer Jazz Time” and “Nettuno Jazz” organized by Associazione Culturale Hangar
